Recent Awards
Valerie received the “Excellence in Jewelry” award at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show in Philadelphia, PA on November 10, 2009, and the “Show Directors’ Award” at the American Craft Exposition in Evanston, IL on August 28, 2009.
Recent publications
Valerie’s work is featured in the second revised edition of Lois Sherr Dubin’s magnificent The History of Beads from 100,000 BC to the Present, which was released by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., in the fall of 2009 (see page 338, the Bead Timeline nos. 337-338, and the dust jacket front and back).
The second edition includes more than a dozen new and many updated pages, and takes the history of beads back to 100,000 BCE. The world-famous Bead Timeline has also been revised and updated.
